The Bank’s Bombay Main Branch building has distinct parts of the Plinth, the Super Structure and the roof, with ornamentations that accentuate these different ‘parts’ of the building. This was one of the key recognizable features of Batley designed buildings. The shape and form of the building was moulded by the site requirements and the building requirements. Buildings materials ranging from Blackstone (for the base), Brown Malad Stone (for decorations), brick and plaster. The roof was originally constructed with timber, with Mangalore tiled finishings.
