The apartment complex built for the members of the Bhabha family was among Batley’s last works. The building lies along a long and narrow plot by the sea, and by siting the building along the longer boundary of the plot, one edge could act as the common wall with the adjoining building.The other edge had the balconies and the other openings. The design was inspired from the English counterparts, as the concept of a “flat “was still fairly new in India at the time.
