Adelphi was a reidential club built in1939 for Sorabhji Rustomji Patell. The concept was to have a building where Bachelors and couples who were posted in Bombay could have a place to stay for short periods of time. The ground floor contained the reception, garages, lounge and kitchen. First floor accommodated a bar, residents dining and service flats. The four upper levels also had service flats of varying sizes. The attic floor was a luxurious apartment for the Proprietor Mr. Patell. The cuboidal building was divided into three parts- the well-expressed plinth, the super structure and a Mansard roof.
