The Vulcan Trading Co. was incorporated in 1937-a company that specialized in food products and consumer goods. Vulcan was a subsidiary of the Swedish firm Svenska Tandsticks Aktieboleaget. In 1961,the company decided to construct their manufacturing plant at Dapodi, Pune for producing dairy, pharmaceutical and chemical products. In 195,the company merged with Alfa Laval , another Swedish owned company, to form Vulcan-Laval, which later became Alfa Laval.
