Parish Church, Worli, Bombay

This small church in Worli was made with a modest budget and simple, locally available materials like yellow skinned rubble (for the walls) and corrugated asbestos (for roofing). Batley further observed that the plot was an old parking lot for heavy vehicles and deduced that the soil would be compact enough for taking the load of a simple single storyed structure. This led to the omission of a foundation almost completely, greatly reducing the building costs.
